slowdown when using touch screen controls

I have discovered that when you use the virtual touch screen controls (dpad, a, b and etc...) it reduce emulation speed alot depending on the game you are playing. When i use an external bluetooth controller and disable button overlay these slowdowns are gone. I think that is because the on screen control animation is negatively affecting the performance of the emulator.
Exophase can you please add an option to disable control animation / fix this issue?
