How do I rename existing save files on my Android?

Post by EODWolfey » Tue Jul 19, 2016 4:56 pm

I just downloaded a different version of Soul Silver that allows evolution without trading for the pokemon that require trading to evolve. Other than that, the version is exactly the same so there are no compatibility issues. However, the instructions are to change the name of my current save game to one that will match with this one and I cannot figure out how. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can do it with a file manager app. For instance, ES File Explorer:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .pop&hl=en

With this app you can do the following:

1) Click on the SD card icon in the upper left to open the /sdcard directory
2) Click on DraStic
3) Click on backup
4) Find the save file you want to rename and long click on it, bringing up a menu at the bottom
5) Click rename
6) Type in the new filename

It makes it easier to find the save file that you want to rename to first (assuming you loaded the new ROM and DraStic created one). You can long click the name then select cut at the top, then exit and long click the old file, long click the field to enter the new name and select paste.

Going to give this a shot now. Thank you so much. I'll let you know if it works.
