swabs wont work on csi and similiar game

Post by self destruct » Fri Nov 07, 2014 8:50 pm

So I downloaded a rom of a detective game (forgot the name) and try as I might I just couldnt get the swabs to work cuz they kept breaking. Dismissed it as being some crappy game and moved on. Now recently I noticed csi dark motives and said hey 5his seems like a good game so I dled it only to get the same result. Now this time I didnt think its a crappy game cuz 1. The swabs dont break and the bar which I imagine gets full as you swab whatever ur swabbing never even reacts. And 2. Ubisoft made the game and their games are pretty good imo. Anyway I was just wondering if any one else is experiencing this or if I am doing something wrong.

Much obliged for reading/posting

Tested it out. The issue is, you have a cotton swab that you are supposed to brush over an area of the screen to collect liquid, and the swab cursor has a meter next to it that I'd assume is supposed to fill, except it doesn't. I can't test it on a real DS right now. It doesn't work in Desmume, but it does apparently in no$ and ideas. Also this: http://forums.desmume.org/viewtopic.php?id=9111

Thanks, that would explain the problem for us too. Not sure yet what the best way to handle this would be.

So I assume you'd be implementing a similar hack for CSI to work, then?

We'll be doing something, not sure what yet though. Possibly an option that trades touch motion latency for fidelity.
