Ultimate Butouden glitches

I downloaded a ROM for the Japan-only DS game, Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden. I got up to the Future Trunks saga, and then when I opened the game up and went into one of the modes, the 2.5-dimensional characters did not appear! I don't know how this glitch happened. (I'm playing on Android 4.2.2, by the way.) It hasn't happened with my Dragon Ball or Mario Party games. If so, could you please patch this?

By 2.5D characters, you mean the fighters' model? What video settings are you currently using?
