Slow with my Zenfone 6

Post by angelang118 » Wed Sep 24, 2014 1:52 am

I have recently gotten a new cell phone called the Zenfone 6 and ran  games using it. However the results were not up to par with my old phone(even though it was a i9000, a almost 3 years old smartphone).
In fact, some games lagged so much, it felt almost unplayable.

I was wondering, if this problem could be fixable perhaps through an possible update in the near future or if  the zenfone is just not as compatible with drastic and I would have to settle with that. It seems that all zenfone users have this problem, as I read from another forum.

The emulator seems to have the most problems and lag alot when I play graphic heavy games. Ex: Pokemon games, Avalon Code, etc.

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Note: I actually sent this to the official drastic email that was posted on their play store page but I posted this here as well in case there are anyone else with any advice.

Aside from the very small text you used, zenfone are atom based devices which does not benefit from the optimization of the neon code so basically, yeah, its not the app, its thephone processor.

Ah, I'm sorry. The text looked humongous on my phone so I set it smaller in case it was too big. So I suppose there are absolutely nothing I can do about this matter?

Another quick question, would the redmi note be doing better with drastic then? Curious cause that's the phone I didn't choose over this one.

Thanks for the help.

It would fare better than the zenfone but im not sure by how much. The multicored nature might make some games like pokemon run at decent speeds. Still its a cortex a7 which is a cheap level processor

The phone should still run games a lot better than an i9000.
Make sure that the setting Audio > Audio Latency is set to 'very high', and that you're using the latest version.
If that doesn't help, go to Options > Advanced and check which mode it runs under 'Debug-Info'.
If it says 'ARMv7 NEON' there, you should try the latest beta version.
