Playing Chrono Trigger on Galaxy Note II and I can't catch the damned rat. I am running, I am not making any mistakes in the maze but I am hardly ever even on the same screen with it, much less close enough to catch it. The games runs great I just can't catch this effing rat. No problems getting it on the iPhone port. I was wondering if I could tweak some settings to make this easier. Has anyone caught it using just a touch screen? Unfortunately I don't have a controller I could use. If anyone has any ideas on a settings configuration or a save state post-rat I could use, would be great. A link to my save state is below.

Chrono Trigger help - Can't catch the rat
Re: Chrono Trigger help - Can't catch the rat
I was able to catch him on the (private) PC version of the emulator using a Logitech Rumblepad F710. Be sure to mash A when you get near it, you won't catch it just by getting near it. That could be the harder part about doing it with touch. There's no other trick than that, you just have to run tightly around the corners.
If you give up I'll upload the savestate.
And yes I know how it looks directing you to post here then doing it myself
(although the savestate was of course necessary.. figured you'd post while I was still at work)

Re: Chrono Trigger help - Can't catch the rat
Is there a way to play it on the pc and then transfer it to my phone? I have tried multiple (lots!) times on the phone and I don't get remotely close enough to the rat to catch it. I rarely even even see it. If you could help me I would play it on the pc to get past this and then play the rest on my phone. A save state would be great too.

Re: Chrono Trigger help - Can't catch the rat
Sorry to revive an old thread but i noticed the same problem on my lg g3.
Drastic is a fantastic emulator but its obvious the rat timing code scales badly to the new processors.
I almost gave up.
Then i found the cheat to walk through walls. It is built into drastic
Used that. Caught the rat and turned the cheat back off
Hope this helps someone stuck at that part
Probably going to be morw of an issue going forward with the faster phones

The speed should be the same regardless of the phone, so long as it's at 100%. The actual emulation will happen the same nobody where it happens on.
It might not always be the exact speed as on the DS, but it'll be consistent between devices.
The issue here may have more to do with bad touch latency on phones. Slowing down the emulation (you can select something like 50%) may help.
