Golden Sun Dark Dawn: Game won't progress past cut-scene

Hey there,

Just to start, I have the paid version of the app (thought I should get that out of the way).

I'm having an issue with getting past a certain part of the game Golden Sun Dark Dawn.

I've not had a single problem with crashing or glitches or anything like that once in my entire save (I suspect I'm about half way through the game) but I've reached a certain point in the story where I simply cannot progress past the cut-scene.

I'm assuming most of you won't know much about the game, so the very general explanation of what's happening is this: In the game I start a generator by placing a mask on a wall; this prompts a cut-scene where 6 or 7 characters begin talking (you advance past each chat bubble by pressing A or B). There comes a point where an old man begins to walk down the stairs, but stops near the top and just starts walking in place - the characters are blinking and you can tell the screen isn't frozen, but there is simply nothing I can do to progress the scene past this point. I can't move, can't pause, can't press start...nothing.

Does anybody have any idea if there's a way around things like this? Golden Sun doesn't allow you to skip cutscenes, but is there a trick (changing resolution, etc) that may prompt the scene to progress? I've tried reloading from my in-game save and from the quick save, but neither seems to help. I've also tried putting it into fast forward.

I appreciate any help, I was really enjoying this game and don't want my save to be killed half way through.

Do you have cheats enabled? If so, does disabling them (and loading from an in-game save from a fresh game load) help?

Could you upload the in-game save file (.dsv file in sdcard/drastic/backup) to see if someone can reproduce it? The game has been tested to completion so it's probably not a general bug, unless it was triggered by something specific to your game run. But it's also possible that it's failing due to a bad/corrupt ROM or some device-specific issue like flaky storage.

so, yes, I was one of those who completed the game without issue (on a 3 year old tablet too). I think I remember the scenario but yeah, can you upload a state or better, a in game save and see if i can replicate it.
