Which android phone will run dractic at full speed

I would like to buy a new android phone.

Could you please let me know which android phone would run drastics (pokemon games black 2, blaze black 2 etc) at full speed without lagging?

I was thinking of buying LG G4 or Asus Zenfone 2 2.3 GHz.

Currently im playing pokemon at my office pc and i was wondering if its possible to use my save files on the phone that i will buy?
there are 2 different save files.
First one is under States folder and its .ds1 file
Second one is under Battery folder and its .dsv file

Get the LG G4. The G4 is hexacore and is 64bit. Asus zenfone is x86 and will run drastic ds very slowly so please get the LG G4 if you want drastic to run full speed (its a really nice fast phone in general lol and has a great camera too)

The LG G4 should probably be able to run most games at non high rez, 0 frame skip, 3d multithreaded off, at full speed or near it. For some games you will need the multithreaded option on and honestly there are only a few games where the option can cause issues, with pokemon generally not being one of them. There a couple of games that will not run full speed, but to be fair there are darn near 0 android phones that will play them at 100/100 with 0 frame skip, with golden sun being a big one. I am not sure even if the shield tablet runs golden sun ds at 100/100 all the time.

The asus zenphone 2 is nice and fast but drastic can have issues with non arm processors like the atom chip in the Zenphone 2. So while the Zenphone 2 is faster on paper, in practice x86 processors in android will either have compatibility issues or suffer performance losses in quite a few heavy tasks (some games and emulators).

Keep in mind neither device is 100% perfect for the job and the LG G4 will probably cost you $100 or more extra over the Zenphone 2.


As fas as the save file goes disable any cheats you might have active before you save and for now the battery backup (in game save) should be compatible between DeSmuME and DraStic. This could break depending on updates from either emulator. Savestates are almost never cross compatible.

I was wandering here looking for known issues with Golden Sun and I come across with this topic. I'm pretty sure you you have already bought the phone, but I want to let it registered here that I own a ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML) and all my games (besides Golden Sun) runs perfectly with high 3d on. Well, I've only played Dragon Quest Monster Joker 2, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time, Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and Golden Sun (the games I used to own before my DS death). Golden Sun in Zenfone 2 has anoying blinking screen, however I have not faced any sound issue like most of people.

Also I run a lot of emulators on my Zenfone 2 perfectly.

The blinking screen is an issue the game has with frameskip. Unfortunately since the game is also very demanding, disabling frameskip isn't really an option for a lot of people, especially on an x86 device where the 3D rendering is a lot less optimized.
