Pokemon Soulsilver Cheat activator not working

I am trying to view the EV/IVs of my pokemon with the EV/IV viewer AR cheat, but holding either L or R doesn't cause the EV/IVs to show up. Anybody know anything I'm doing wrong or know how to make it work?
