Re: Ubuntu Installation
Thanks on that last bit of help!
I'm really getting used to Linux now, I've already gotten a SNES emulator to work (but no others), and right now i'm decorating my desktop to make it more Windows-y.
However, I couldn't figure out how to change the desktop background. I already have the photo I want, and I REALLY hate the default background. Do you think you can help?

You can also find me on Reddit (u/Ericbazinga) and Discord (in the DraStic Discord server). You'll find me in those places almost daily and here almost never.

From here: https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-h ... round.html
(personally I switched to Linux Mint when Ubuntu started forcing Unity, I'm not a fan)1. Right click on the desktop and select Change Desktop Background.
2. Select an image or color. The settings are applied immediately.

I'm not using Ubuntu or Linux Mint, but that DID help me figure out how to change the background. Thanks!Exophase wrote:From here: https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-h ... round.html

But yeah, that's basically how all desktop environments I know of work.

Re: Ubuntu Installation
I'm having yet ANOTHER issue, what a surprise.
I'm trying to make a save.dat file, so that my changes to Porteus will be saved.
It wants me to chane a line in a supposed 'porteus.cfg' file, which I can't find.
Anyone know where it is?

Re: Ubuntu Installation
1. The cfg file should be in your USB drive /Porteus
2. For the love of all things in this world please either resize your uploaded images or please just crop out the part you want to show us. My tablet's internet browser thanks you for your consideration.

Re: Ubuntu Installation
I've decided to upgrade my USB boot drive's OS to Windows XP.
I have an old re-installation disc left over from when I owned one of these PCs, and I'm trying to find the right program for installing it.
The program I need needs to-
1. be able to read the disc off my disc drive
2. install Windows XP onto my flash drive (NOT the installation program, the full OS)
3. make the resulting install 16 GB or less
Thanks in advance!

Re: Ubuntu Installation
Doesnt mint use Cinnamon? In my experience Cinnamon is far heavier than unity, running my games is a slow slower on it. From my experience XFCE and MATE are best but MATE seems to mess up pulseaudio for meExophase wrote:From here: https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-h ... round.html
