Lag on First Person Shooters
Lag on First Person Shooters
The emulator runs great but when I play FPS type games I.e: Goldeneye , COD , ETC. It gets very laggy , any way to make gameplay smooth for FPS games.

Well, I can imagine that these are 3D-heavy games. Try turning on 'Multi-threaded 3D Rendering' (but keep in mind, it CAN cause issues in other games. I found this out the hard way). You have to close out DraStic by tapping 'exit DraStic' in the main menu, otherwise no changes will take effect. Please let me know the outcome.inferno wrote:The emulator runs great but when I play FPS type games I.e: Goldeneye , COD , ETC. It gets very laggy , any way to make gameplay smooth for FPS games.

You can also find me on Reddit (u/Ericbazinga) and Discord (in the DraStic Discord server). You'll find me in those places almost daily and here almost never.

Or use frameskip for that matter. Also, you haven't posted anything about your device yet, i.e. make/model, specs and whatnot.

I am using a Huawei Honor 3C , Quad Core 1.3 GHz , 2 GB Ram , Sufficient Data Space , Mali 400 . Multi threaded rendering does not improve things too much .

Well, sometimes games are too heavy to be used in DraStic. Sorryinferno wrote:I am using a Huawei Honor 3C , Quad Core 1.3 GHz , 2 GB Ram , Sufficient Data Space , Mali 400 . Multi threaded rendering does not improve things too much .

Your 1.3GHz processor is likely not strong enough for these types of games. There's not too much you can do unless you're willing to upgrade to a better phone.inferno wrote:I am using a Huawei Honor 3C , Quad Core 1.3 GHz , 2 GB Ram , Sufficient Data Space , Mali 400 . Re: Lag on First Person Shooters
So how come one of the most heaviest nds games : Pokemon White 2 runs on my phone without any lag ( no frameskip ) ? There is something about these fps games I guess , I heard they lagged on the real nds too.
Re: Lag on First Person Shooters
It's not really clear what you mean by lag.
Turn on the frame counter. If the first number is 100% then it's running at normal speed. The second number says what percentage of frames are skipped. Another indicator that it's probably running at normal speed is if the music is playing without skipping.

Re: Lag on First Person Shooters
The framerate fluctuates between 70 - 79% when there is a heavy firefight , but when there are no enemies then the rate reaches 100% ( these readings have been taken without any frameskip ).
Re: Lag on First Person Shooters
To be honest, your soc is very low end and will probably choke a bit on some games. Same thing happened to me with my mediatek mt6592 and dragon quest 4, and even that's a bit more advanced than the soc you have. Cortex a7 cores are not ideal for drastic . Now I've been playing smoothly on a snapdragon 800. The difference in performance is huge tbqh.
