Sonic Chronicles crashes at the pow move demo

When I try to go into battle, right at the POW move demo before you use your POW Move for the first time, it crashes! Is there a fix? I downloaded and am using the Xenophobia rom...

This is with the current version, 2.3.0.2a?

Can you upload a save game (not savestate) and instructions on how to reproduce it exactly?
