App needs access to camera/microphone/identity?

Post by questiontime » Mon Dec 01, 2014 8:05 pm

Hello,

I'm a new smartphone / Android user and am not yet well versed in it's ways. I was thinking of buying the app from the play store, but as I was thinking of doing so the store told me the app wants access to my identity and camera/microphone. Why does it want and/or need these? Is it possible to get a version without that?

The microphone permission is needed to emulate the DS's microphone, and the account permission for the Google Drive integration. The camera is never accessed.
If you don't use the Google Drive feature, your accounts will never be accessed, either.
Anyway, all it does is read your e-mail address, so you can log into the Google Drive account.
