Is there someway you can trade pokemon with yourself in this emulator?

Not currently. Id personally try a ROM edit of the game you're currently playing. Many if not all pokemon games have had edits to change the evolutions and enable the possibility of catching all the pokemon on that game.

Is it possible to rom edit with out restarting the game ? would be nice to keep my progress.

yep, just find an edited rom of the same game your playing.
IF black 2 you could try blaze black 2, for example.

And then just rename the save file to that game. Id advise against not starting again though. As i found out to dismay that i cant get the bike on volt white 2 anymore (was playing normal white 2 for the cheats and didnt realise on volt white 2 u get the bike right at the beginning)
