Multiplayer will be implemented some day?

Hello, I love Drastic, but I have a question; They plan to implement local multiplayer? Grateful to answer. 
If the unique way that Nintendo setup wireless communication becomes better understood.
If it then possible to emulate those signals to the emulator and comunicate with a second device all while keeping the timing within what the software (rom) expects.
If those 2 main issues end up having positive answers sometime in the future then multiplayer will probably be implimented. Is this going to happen any time soon....... probably not.
