Save file corrupted? Pokemon white

After defeating N and the other guy , it went to The End animation but it says that I already have saved file so I cannot start the game post-elite four. Anyone help?
I am unfortunately guessing you have been using savestates and saved savestates after the last time you could make an in game save.
I think the fix would be to open the game without continuing a savestate and loading the ingame save and then beating the game without savestates. But someone more versed in the pokemon games might know better then me.
