Best games to play on a smartphone?
Best games to play on a smartphone?
As the title says: I'm traveling a lot by train with my LG G4 and drastic... So I'm asking: which games do you think are great to be played on a 5" or more touchscreen device (without external controllers or pen)?
Right now I have:
-Pokemon Soul silver (I already finished Platinum, I can confirm that the pokemon series is optimal to be played
on a smartphone)
- Phoenix Wright
- Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of sky (not really good)
- chrono trigger
- radiant historia
- contact
- infinite space (kinda hard on a small screen)
- inazuma eleven (really hard without S pen)
- devil survivor
- Final fantasy iv
- rune Factory 3
- cooking mama 2 (maybe the easiest one)

depends on how you hold the phone and how you set up the screen. if you do not care about the other screen (it sonetimes have worthless junk on it anyways) then any game can be playable. id say radiant historia is playable for default on a small screen (as is other rpg titles aside from golden sun). runefactory could be a bit difficult if you dont have controller.bellbill wrote:As the title says: I'm traveling a lot by train with my LG G4 and drastic... Re: Best games to play on a smartphone?
New Super Mario Bros is the best for quick fun arcade-ish sessions, best played with the layout landscape 1:1, my phone has a 5 inch screen(sorry for bragging) too, but I have 2 external bluetooth controllers with a bracket clip to hold the phone...makes life easy.
Since ya got 5 inch screen resizing the on-screen controllers so it's bigger shouldn't be difficult to make use of that big screen.
Also since you're on the train a lot keep an eye out on your belongings too, don't always focus on the game. Have a Good Day

As long as I don't have to use L or R I guess the game can be playable
Re: Best games to play on a smartphone?
When I use the virtual controller I tend to move the L and R down to right above the x y a b and reduce their size by half or more. But I also avoid playing any game using the virtual controller that requires either speed or percision (castlevania, mario series, any action game) and mostly play turn based rpgs and games that are completely controlled by touch screen (ghost trick, Phoenix Wright, Professor Layton, ect)
Re: Best games to play on a smartphone?
Controls like TK's, touch screen up and you can play almost anything. Fancier sets for games like TWEWY and you're golden.
Unlike TK, I enjoy misery and took pride in finishing platformers on touchscreens.

BE ATTITUDE FOR ENGRISH
Re: Best games to play on a smartphone?
Yea I will flat out admit that I am not generally very good with touchscreen controls (except for a few very well designed controls for games built for them) and generally avoid not just misery but actually not being able to beat some games with them (*cough Castlevania *cough). Something along the line of Valkyrie Chronicles 2/3 on ppsspp is about far as I am willing to push touchscreen controls before I just use a bluetooth controller.Fefo wrote:Controls like TK's, touch screen up and you can play almost anything. To be fair though there are some game genres that I won't play with a controller and will only use a keyboard and mouse due tonthe controller not being precise or fast enough. RTS and point and click adventures are 2 that come easily to mind.

It seems the RPG crew has gathered here, Dragon Quest IX sentinels of the starry skies has good 3D Graphics, but since it's an RPG game it's not my favourite, I like it for the graphics of the game.

And I agree I prefer my tablet to my phone, though my tablet also has better specs then my phone.
