Forced Rotation On A QWERTY Slider

I have a Photon Q, a QWERTY slider. I've disabled autorotation in my phone, but being a slider, I can still adjust the orientation by sliding out the keyboard. This comes in super handy, plus the full keyboard helps with emulation.

Unfortunately, I cannot get Drastic to adhere to this same mechanic. I have accomplished this on my previous phone (same model, bricked by repair shop), but I have been unable to do so this time around. No matter how I play with the default layout and landscape orientation layout, I cannot get it to automatically change orientation when my system does without also trying to use the accelerometer, which my system ignores. The screen will flicker when I open or close the phone, but the emulator doesn't change orientation.

For the record, my issue is that when I open and close my phone, my phone changes orientation, but Drastic does not.

So if you have a game and you select the specific portrait layout then it will not rotate. This is probably due to some DS games requiring a physical DS to be held sideways to be played. (Hotel Dusk and Last Window are 2 I know, though they are both in the same series, there may be more) I think this may be what is causing you your issue, especially since you used to be able to do it on the same model.

What can I do to fix this? Restarting the app and not selecting a layout doesn't help.

Open your phone load drastic

load any game and go into the options menu

Select any layout on the bottom besides the one that looks like 2 stacked boxes (the far right one)

Exit the menu and if you close/open your slide it should probably rotate between the portrait layout and whatever landscape layout you just picked.

After doing some testing, I've found... something. I'm leaning toward this being a bug.

Drastic will update my orientation upon sliding my keyboard only in Reverse Landscape. It will not work in Landscape, oddly. When my phone is opened, the layout is correct, which is Landscape x:1. When my phone is closed, I can use any of layouts except Portrait 1:1, which is the one I need. Using Portrait 1:1 prevents it once again from reorienting when it closes. Additionally, all of the layouts are upside down when my phone is closed.

EDIT: A word.

While the other things may be bugs, I believe this is working correctly:
"Using Portrait 1:1 prevents it once again from reorienting when it closes"

Due to "book orientation" games requiring you to technically have the screen in portrait but hold your device sideways. Having it autorotate out of that orientation wouldn't work.

It would be nice if there was an actual rotation setting, as in "Auto-Rotate: Auto/Phone/Off" & "Reverse Layout: □". I cannot understand why it's not set up like this. If you wanted to use portrait mode and have it not auto-rotate, you would just turn of auto-rotation and set it to portrait mode.

Landscape Layout Rotation: I'm not sure what this setting is supposed to do, but here is what it does. When my phone is closed, and this is set to Auto, the screen will auto-rotate according to my accelerometer. If it is set to Landscape, it will orient itself to whatever landscape layout I'm using with my keyboard at the bottom of the screen, again when it's closed. Opening it when set to Landscape does nothing. If it is set to Reverse Landscape, when the phone is closed, it will use any layout, but they will be upside down. If I open the phone, the screen will reorient properly.

Were there changes in the last six months? I used to be able to do this.
