What are the optimal settings?

I didn't think I would find a good NDS emulator after all the reading about how complicated the NDS is and how hard it is to emulate it, but this app worked just fine. There are, however, some complications. I'm quite the perfectionist, and that's why I would like to have my settings set so that the app works the best. I've got a Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 with 3GB RAM and a SnapDragon quadcore CPU. I'm basically playing Pokemon Platinum. I'd like to know which settings will give me the best performance. Also, there is a specific problem I'd like solved. There happens to be a one second (relatively large) delay between video and sound. The sound comes one second after the screen reacts to my input. Does anyone know what the best settings are and how to fix the delay? Some explanation on what each setting does could also help.
Thanks for trying!

I voted 'Both On'. (I thought only administrators could make polls...)
You also mentioned a video-sound delay when playing. In the Audio section in the Settings menu, you might want to try adjusting latency. If that doesn't work, then just let us know.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, Multi-threaded 3D Rendering isn't the best option. It helps if you're playing a 3D-heavy game (
TRON Evolution, for example), but it can also cause bugs in other games. Also, there's a ridiculous and tricky way to turn the option on/off.
16-bit rendering doesn't cause bugs, and makes the game look slightly better. You can also adjust frameskip for a smoother picture.

You just need to restart the app, is that so tricky?

16-bit rendering looks slightly worse, and you should only really need it if you have an older device.

There's not really much that can be done about it, and the amount of latency depends on the device. You can try setting the audio-latency to the lowest setting, but that might have an impact on performance (again depending on the device).
I doubt that it's 1 second, though, the touch input should have around 100-200ms latency, and the audio not more than that.
You'll also find relatively detailed information about each setting under Help > Instructions in the app.

You have to restart the app by pressing the 'Exit DraStic' button in the main menu. Then and ONLY then will it work.

If you are in the main menu and change the setting, you don't even need to restart the app, you can just load a game and the setting takes effect.
You only need to restart the app, if you're already in a game.
Then you need to press the 'Quit' button, yes. If you just suspend and resume it, that's not 'restarting' it.

Oh.

Check options->advanced-> [Sleep in rendering thread]
If you do not have that option then try the beta because it is in there and is made for the adreno gpu when you have lollipop on your device.
Also you picked a very very very bad hobby if you are a perfectionist. Games are buggy, emulating hardware on different hardware is buggy, and sacrifices will always have to be made. Heck my first copy of snk vs capcom card fighters clash on the ds had a fatal bug that kept the game from being beatable and that was on a DS with an official cartridge. But to have a 1 second delay is abnormal at best. (I could not cause that large a delay even with latency set to very high)

I couldn't get any results out of the poll. I've had my settings to a very high latency and it really was one second. It became slightly less with a low latency, namely 0.5 seconds, but it's still quite big. I know emulated games are laggy but i just want the best out of it. Again, I've got a Note 3 with a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor. I've got quite some performance. My device is rooted, so if you've got some advice on how to increase the performance, please tell me.
Thanks for the replies.
