Well yeah, my savestates have been corrupted. Sadly, I accidentally saved over them so I'm pretty sure I can't get them back even if I tried, but it would be great to know what causes this to happen so I don't make the mistake of doing it again.

Also, if there IS a way of getting corrupted savestates to... uh... an (un)(non)corrupted state please tell me how to do so. Thanks.

It depends what game ur using save states with.
Pokemon games for example it has been stated multiple times that using savestates are highly cautioned with them.

This has happened with two games:
-The World Ends With You
-Jump Ultimate Stars
