app crashing

I'm using the latest version from the play store 2.2.1.2a on a Nexus 5. Android version 4.4.4 Paranoid Android 4.5. The app crashes when anything is selected in the menu. I've already tried reinstalling and using a different kernal. I assume it's probably a problem with my rom but I don't feel like downgrading so I figured I would just ask and see if there are any known fixes. Thanks.
