Is it possible for you guys to put this app on the amazon app store?
I don't want to jailbreak my kindle just to get this app.
I don't want to download suspicious apks either.

I don't think Amazon allows emulators, despite the fact that we've gotten multiple form letters from them asking for us to port to it. Says here no video game emulators:

Go here and look for something like "NES emulator", you won't find anything.

They do carry bleem! though, both for Windows 9x and bleemcast:

Which is a bit ironic considering their mandate on emulators.

Probably predates their rule and they didn't notice, and besides that I doubt they very rigorously audit third party sellers that list on Amazon unless they get some report.

Odd that they sell Action Replays given that "game enhancers" and "unauthorized accessories" are also banned. (Also funny how Sega bootdisks are in their own category).

And yeah there used to be a C64 emulator on the Amazon app store but it is gone, now there's only that terminal emulator.

Likely so. And yeah, it would be a herculean task for them to screen each and every single item in their catalogue. For instance I've seen Mediatek-powered Samsung Galaxy knockoffs, and "Shoupie" permanent markers, yet Amazon didn't seem to bat an eye.

Google did crack down on emulators once which is why the -oid series of emus got pulled out. Dunno why they've been complacent nowadays.

The -oid emulators violated GPL left and right. Yongzh was stubborn and never released the source.

He did apparently release source codes for his emus, but that's for the earlier versions.

I don't know Google's official reason for pulling yongzh's emulators, and we'll probably never know. But there were lots and lots of emulators around at the time, including others that didn't do a good job complying with source licenses, that weren't pulled. He had a lot of different emulators up, and he really only needed to get caught in a trap with one of them to be blasted off the store. zodttd had a PS1 emulator pulled too, but that was almost certainly because he used the official PS1 logo in the app description - he even got a letter from Sony to that effect.

So I heard as well, it's just that Sony and the others remain mum on the presence of emulators for their past systems, possibly due to the bleem verdict in that the aforementioned emu was deemed as a fair use case (the screenshots, that is).
