How this autosave thing work exactly?

Love the app every since bought it. Worth every penny!

I'd like to know however, how this autosave(on exit) really works. I have galaxy s4, I always game without any interruptions, so there is no chance of some game closing by the system. I did play a little of Elite beat agents lately, and I had 2 saves. One was a normal one, and one was a quicksave. When I did that quicksave, everytime I click on "continue" at the beginning of the game it takes me back to this quicksave point. Even if I reset the game, exit, and come back, the same scenario occurs.

I'd like to know what are the needed steps to get autosave working.

I assume you're using the latest version (2.2.0.2a)?
It doesn't have the autosave on exit anymore, as that was not always reliable. Instead you have autosave on suspend, and you can also set autosave to be periodic (every 5,15, or 30 minutes).

The autosave of older versions only triggered when you really pressed the 'Quit' button.
The new autosave on suspend will trigger whenever the game view is sent to the background, so if you're entering the game menu, if the app is interrupted by another app, or call etc.

Oh I see...

So what do I have to set to have this autosave feature work? I mean how does the emulator know over which save file to overwrite?

You just have to select the autosave-type you want to use. Autosaves will always use their own savestate, they won't overwrite a quick-save or normal savestate you made.
When you press 'Continue' it will automatically load the latest savestate available, whichever that is.

I started Dual Strike. I have autosave turned on. I started the game, played a little and quit (through menu). When I ran the drastic again, the "continue" field is greyed out...

how did you set your autosave? is it saved when paused (menu), or timed?

Well, why it doesn't work based on the above explanation? It wasn't clear from the context?
how did you set your autosave? is it saved when paused (menu), or timed?
It is set to autosave on pause. And as explained by me in my latest message, it did not work as explained to me.

you could try the ff:

when you start drastic, pick load new game
choose the game you want to play
you will be given an option to start a new game, load from a save, load from other saves
choose load from other games and try to look for the autosave you made. if it isnt there, then there must be some problem @ time of saving
if its there, try to load it. if it didnt load, upload it and we willlook into it.
