So, he ranted about libretro, HLE, etc.
That's it?
For some RANTING your answer is doing ILLEGAL things like cracking and releasing a piece of software that has been worked on for years?
That's something like you called me an idiot and I'll steal your car later for that, and you're fine with it?
True, I don't have the details whatever happened back then, but Exophase is a well respected member of the OpenPandora community for years.
Always helpful. And yes, while some of his posts sound harsh, he simply points out facts here.

And then whats the point if it never gets accepted upstream due to the whims of one person, and solely one person. fragmenting userbases isnt nice. You know, that's the joy of open-source software. If you think he's doing it all wrong, you're free to fork it and make it how YOU think it should be done. Until then, you have no room to complain.
This has happened before, like the Sattelaview emulation LuigiBlood did, and kode54's DirectSound driver updates. They were arbitrary ignored because of the whims of one author. Hence said stuff being flung back: you try to help a FOSS project and you get treated like dirt.
Another reason I dislike byuu.

ReimuHakurei wrote:Thing is, Android apps are ridiculously easy to crack. An app can't really tell from where it was installed, and as far as I know the only way for a paid Play Store app to see if it's pirated or not is to use a single API call to check the purchase list from Google's servers.EvilDragon wrote:I really hope there's some hidden protection in that APK which triggers after a while of usage which you've overseen.
After decompiling the code, all you would really have to do is ctrl-f for that function and replace it w/ something else.
Though this is how it was a while ago, so Google may have added some things since then. Not that it matters, because someone will crack it anyway.
Nothing wrong with byuu, byuu is cool. bsnes/higan FTW.mudlord wrote:Fine, do you want me to bring up how he allied himself with that cunt byuu, fine.
Ohh, wow. That explains why there are a lot more good commercial games on iOS than on android.
It also explains for me why no one releases major titles for android.
Re: Thanks so much for releasing this for free!! =D
No its many more things than that. Many little, little things.EvilDragon wrote:So, he ranted about libretro, HLE, etc.

How is it illegal? Exophase's product is not any less illegal since it can be used to run illegal ROMs, hence piracy enabled by his product. Thats called hypocrisy sir.For some RANTING your answer is doing ILLEGAL things like cracking and releasing a piece of software that has been worked on for years?
Yes, murder would also be acceptable. That's something like you called me an idiot and I'll steal your car later for that, and you're fine with it?
In that case, since you don't know the facts between Exophase and I, you should zip your lips.True, I don't have the details whatever happened back then, but Exophase is a well respected member of the OpenPandora community for years.
I have no doubt that he is helpful. He indeed is quite smart and his work is impressive, but I have irreconcilable issues with him.

Well, to be honest, him cracking and releasing this emulator doesn't really matter - someone is going to do it. Someone always does.EvilDragon wrote:So, he ranted about libretro, HLE, etc.

Thing is, if enough of the improvements get sent to a fork instead of the original, and the authors of the fork keep pulling the changes from upstream, the fork will get a much larger userbase than the original. See: LibreOffice vs OpenOffice.org.mudlord wrote:And then whats the point if it never gets accepted upstream due to the whims of one person, and solely one person. fragmenting userbases isnt nice.
Piracy is part of it, sure - any Android device can pirate stuff, but only jailbroken iOS devices can. But the real reason is, iOS users are more likely to buy an app. iOS users tend to have more money to do so.EvilDragon wrote:Ohh, wow. Nobody really cares to enforce it 90% of the time, but copyright infringement is still illegal in most areas.mudlord wrote:How is it illegal? Exophase's product is not any less illegal since it can be used to run illegal ROMs, hence piracy enabled by his product. Thats called hypocrisy sir.

Anyone who pirated this app and cannot affort $8 does not deserve to use it and they can go back to nds4droid. Hopefuly the next update blocks this patch or hack so it stops this sh*t.

Sure, the next update users will have to wait a while for a crack. But someone will crack it again. Someone always does.Sean wrote:Anyone who pirated this app and cannot affort $8 does not deserve to use it and they can go back to nds4droid. Developers can put thing after thing into an app to try and stop piracy, but it doesn't matter. Studies have shown that 95% of people who pirate apps wouldn't buy it even if a pirated copy wasn't available. They just wouldn't use it. So all stopping pirates does is a) reduce publicity, and b) waste the developers time. Oh, and in the case of annoying DRM like many PC games have, c) make users who would have bought it pirate it instead to avoid the DRM.

I bet you're a real big gun control nut too, aren't ya? Because people don't kill people, guns kill people, am I right? How is it illegal? Exophase's product is not any less illegal since it can be used to run illegal ROMs, hence piracy enabled by his product. Thats called hypocrisy sir.
Seriously, I know you're just trying to be contrary at this point, but whether or not you're trolling doesn't change that you need to take a nice, long nap and then call your mental health specialist when you wake up.

He also doesn't seem to realize that legal precedent shows that emulators are legal. (lol Bleem)JimBobIII wrote:I bet you're a real big gun control nut too, aren't ya? Actually, yes I am in favor of gun control, thank you for asking. Guns are designed to kill things.I bet you're a real big gun control nut too, aren't ya? Because people don't kill people, guns kill people, am I right?
Just like emulators are designed to run ROMs.
