Having said all that, I think there's a good chance there'll be a few x86 optimizations first (don't know how much the OGL ES 3.0 renderer is on the table, it'd probably be more of a long term thing), but probably nothing as comprehensive as for ARM. I've started doing a little work profiling on my desktop and looking at SSSE3 versions of the most demanding 3D hires functions.

I've been doing more optimizations to narrow the performance gap between x86 and ARM for the 3D rendering. Haven't done any tests on Atoms yet, but the improvement on my desktop machine is pretty significant. Hope to post some numbers from actual Atom Android devices soon.
