Does this emulator require an internet connection

I was looking in the troubleshooting thread:

It mentions "Make sure that a Google account is present on the device and that you're logged into Google Play." in order to prevent the app from crashing on launch.

I'm just wondering if that means you also have to be connected to the internet. I was hoping to play some games during a plane flight.

No it does not require a constant internet connection. Its just for the first launch after you install it from the play store.

It used to require internet on first boot to check for your license, but I think this got changed. You can still use it without internet, just make sure before your flight you open the app at least once after installing it
