HARVEST MOON DS BUGS AND GLITCHES

Alright after doing a bunch of research i finally figured out how to fix the problem. Yaaaay i thank you all for your help. My villagers and their pets are now out and about and all doors are unlocked. Here is the process i followed.
STEP 1. throw dog ball in pond and go to sleep.
STEP 2.get the new dog ball and throw it in harvest godess pond
STEP 3.dig in the ground until you pass out.
STEP 4.uninstall and reinstall.
STEP 5.the emulator will recognize your saved file still so when it promts if you want to continue say no and take the game to the title screen and start a new game.

I dont know if all these steps were relevant to fixing the glitch but i was just following online instructions and it seemed to work so thanks guys for all your help.
