Nexus 4 compatibility

Post by GamingRetro » Sun May 31, 2015 11:19 pm

People who have a Nexus 4, can you tell me if games are playable or not? I am going to get Drastic but after trying a few DS emulators on Android, I feel like Drastic is going to lag.

Trust me, it won't. I was in the same boat befire I tried DraStic. If you're still not sure, try the demo out.

You can also find me on Reddit (u/Ericbazinga) and Discord (in the DraStic Discord server). You'll find me in those places almost daily and here almost never.

Unlike 95% of the emulators on the play store DraStic is not a renaming of another emulator with either some ads or a price attached to make money. You really can not compare the performance of drastic to any of the other emulators.
But if you are runing a nexus 4 with a 1.5GHz quadcore snapdragon you can easily run quite a few games with 0 frameskip at full speed, some games with the new high resolution mode (may need frameskip doing this), and any of the default installed filters to make the games look nicer.

Tbh there are some dual core devices that run drastic at playable speeds.

Nexus 4 owner, can run anything in x2 resolution, with filters and whatever. At most you'll need to skip 1 frame to smooth some edges.

At least this one's worth the six bucks rather than a lazy fork of another open-source emulator. Games should run well even on an entry-level device like the Allwinner A31s tablet I'm using, albeit with frameskip on some titles to compensate.

Thanks to everyone who answered. I just got Drastic DS and safe to say, working great on Nexus 4, minor lag only occasionally. I recommend buying this app, worth it.
