Pokemon rom suddenly gone/save game issues (not corruption)

Post by Atlante » Tue Nov 25, 2014 11:03 am

Hello!

After connecting my smartphone (Sony Xperia ZL) via USB cable in mass storage mode, my Pokemon Black rom simply disappeared. I know it sounds absurd, but I'm sure I didn't delete the file by accident. Has somebody ever experienced something similar? I'm totally willing to admit I simply did something dumb and lost the file, though.

However, the save files are still in the savegame directory. Can I use these files with another Pokemon Black rom, obtained from somewhere else? How should I proceed? I can't seem to remember where I got the rom that generated the save files.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and sorry for my eventually wonky englsh.

Is the ROM on internal storage or an SD card? Does it come back when you unplug USB, and if not does it if you reboot the phone? I think I've heard of issues in Android devices with SD cards getting unmounted when USB mass storage is connected.

Nope, it was on internal storage, and never came back. I still have the saves, though. Is there a way I can use it with another rom?

As long as you use the exact rom (meaning if the old one is a us rom, you also need a us rom) and rename it as the old one, I guess its ok. Unless the said rom was a modified one I don't think it'll have issues
