problem with Zelda phantom hourglass d-pad cheat

Hi I am new to this forum so if this has already been answered I apologize. Let me start by saying I just bought drastic recently and am playing it on a moto g and all the games run great. My issue is, when I try to enable the cheat to use the normal d-pad / virtual controls instead of the stylus it does absolutely nothing. I would really like to fix this because I love Zelda but hate playing it with a stylus. Thanks so much for any help.
