Animal Crossing - Nookington's

Hello,
I play animal crossing and I want to have the final expansion for Tom Nook's shop. But to upgrade to Nookington's a friend must buy something in the shop in my town. So I will be unable to upgrade with Drastic.
Does anybody know a cheat or something?
