What is a custom build? How do I get it? Sorry, I'm new to this.

Transferring Pokémon from Gen 4 to Gen 5 *Legitimately*
I want to transfer pokemon from platinum (and also any other gen 4 game I play in the future) to my White2 or atleast white. But, I do not want to use pokegen, poketransfer or any other software which edit the rom. Is this possible in drastic, or any other emulator like Desmume, or like a ...
