and also when I try to patch with the Vanilla version or Complete version, no cheats show up for both.

If you enter a cheat manually it has to be activated, which is done by putting a "+" after the cheat name, like so:

[cheat_name]+
xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx

But you should be able to add the cheat inside the emulator as well as activate/deactivate it, you shouldn't have to make a file manually for it ...

Turns out adding the cheats on my own didn't go so smoothly as I thought it would.
There's a particular point in while adding the cheats, for some reason the whole app freezes, and I can't do anything for like 10 to 20 seconds.
